Election Commission launches probe into foreign funding against PPP and PML-N
The Election Commission of Pakistan has launched an investigation into the issue of foreign funding against the PPP and the PML-N.
Notices have been issued by the Election Commission to both parties, and representatives from both parties have been asked to appear before the Election Commission's Scrotani Committee.
According to a statement issued by the Election Commission, representatives of the two parties have been directed to appear before the Scrutiny Committee on November 26.
The PML-N and the PPP have been accused of receiving illicit funding from the US and UK, and PTI member Farrukh Habib has filed a petition with the Election Commission in this regard.
It is to be remembered that the petition filed against the ruling party PTI in regard to foreign funding is also being processed, but the meeting of the PTI Scrutiny Committee has been boycotted.
PTI has also filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court in this regard, whose hearing is postponed until the first week of December.
The Leader of the Opposition has now begun to pressurize the Election Commission to hear the foreign funding case against the PTI on a daily basis.
