Two foreigners in Afghan Taliban prison were released, US university professors were deported to Zabul by US helicopter.

Three Taliban leaders have been released in exchange for the
release of US professors.

Afghan Taliban say they have released two hostages taken hostage, both of whom were kidnapped in Kabul in 2016.
According to local police sources, at ten o'clock this morning, two US university professors were released from Zabul province, which departed from Zabul on American helicopters.

Those released include Kevin King of the United States and Timothy Wax from Australia.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said it was a difficult but important decision and should be considered as a step taken by the government on humanitarian grounds.

Afghan officials are hopeful that peace talks with the Taliban will resume after the move, while protests against the release of Haqqani and other Taliban leaders were also held in Kabul.
